    Intraoral scanning and potential sources of error  


    The accuracy and efficiency of digital impressions have been examined in numerous studies. Despite its undisputed advantages, relatively little attention has been paid to the specific requirements of orthodontics and the potential sources of error that arise during intraoral scanning. This article therefore summarises and discusses the author's clinical experience with these issues.
